T-Rex mindmap

Mindmap of a T-Rex.

Thoughts about Derrick Hodgson's art work

So this project turned out to be a very interesting one for me to undertake; it just felt good to draw stuff again. His abstract characters (as I view them) are none like I've ever seen before in the art work which I'm exposed to, which is mostly 3D, beautifully modelled and rendered characters in video games. With that being said, it was very unusually for me to see characters that have been drawn the way Madreal does; the characters seem very child-like. Now that's not to say I'm putting down Madreal's designs or anything, they just remind of art I used to draw when I was like 6 years old. Towards the end of this assignment, I had grown use to Madreal's designs which made it easier for me to become inspired by his work. So far, this assignment has been the most fun one I've had so far. It was great to get exposed to some interesting, abstract art work and to be able to draw again. I look forward to having more projects like this one, I feel that these assignments have the potential to be really kick ass! :)

Artist Research Assignment piece #2

This is the second of the two pieces I've drawn that were inspired by Derrick Hodgson. Original images uploaded by Graeme Nishida.

Artist Research Assignment piece #1

So this is the first piece of art inspired by Madreal a.k.a Derrick Hodgson. This is one of two pieces I've drawn for my Sketching for Communications class. It felt so damn good to draw again, I've missed it so much! Original images uploaded by Graeme Nishida.

Little Red Riding Hood

A drawing of Little Red Riding Hood I drew in my Sketching for Communications class at Seneca College. I don't usually draw anime or manga style characters, but I was quite pleased with the outcome of the drawing. Enjoy!

A design composition using only straight lines. The piece gives a nice sense of depth, line, colour and rythym. This was also done in my Colour Theory class in Seneca's Art Fundamentals program.

Rockin' Out

A little piece I put together in my Style Drawing class in my Art Fundamentals program at Seneca college. I love music, so this piece was that much more enjoyable to compose. The actual canvas size is 18x24.

Graffiti

Trying my hand at some graffiti art. This was a project done in my Colour Theory class in the Art Fundamentals program at Seneca College. I will be graduating from that program in June.

If I had a super power.

My super power is blowing shit up with my mind.

How? I was pushed out of a plane in mid-flight and landed in a vat of nuclear waste. I was then run over by a truck filled with nuclear waste. It crashed and leak nuclear waste all over me. Finally, I was struck down by a nuclear warhead. After all this, I survived!

Where? The Nuclear Power Plant in Springfield, USA

Why? God realized how friggin' awesome I am and decided to give me this power and to abuse it in every conceivable way.

When? Flying on plane to Cancun

Rabbit sketch

A basic, stylized sketch of a rabbit that I did in like 5 minutes. It was an in class assignment for my Sketching for Communications class; a course in the Digital Media Arts program at Seneca College. Not a bad looking sketch for the time I was allowed.
