Another cartoon character
I had a similar version of this character before, it didn't look too great, so I removed the post after a few minutes. Decided it was better to put in more time and effort into the cartoon so I could get it the way I wanted to.

Cheerleader character
Drew this one up awhile ago, forgot to upload it then. Better late than never, I guess.
This was my first attempt at this character. Not a bad attempt, but she didn't look young enough. Ideally, for a cheerleader, an ideal age is in the range of 16 to 19 years old. I wasn't getting that likeness from this character.
Second attempt. This one is more successful than the previous design. Larger eyes, longer lashes and a big smile really contribute to the young, peppy, cuteness deal you get with cheerleaders.

Lollipop Hatchet/Machete
So there's a game being released sometime in 2012 titled "Lollipop Chainsaw". They game follows zombie hunter/cheerleader Juliet Starling who fights zombies in 'San Romero high school' where Juliet used to cheer. The game's main character inspired me to build a character based off her likeness. Here are some of my creations. I mainly experimented with the eyes and the weapons she's holding. I'm happy with how the hair turned out. In my previous designs my characters hair always looks kind of flat, this time, my character's hair looks more dynamic. Between the two sketches, I prefer the second one. In terms of the digital renderings, I prefer the last one. Hope everyone has a happy Halloween!

Candice Kucsulain drawing
This is a character model of Walls of Jericho vocalist Candice Kucsulain. The bottom image is my reference image and the top one is my interpretation. I guess I can attempt the crazy amount of tattoos she has later....

Even more character models
Another character model from a previous drawing I posted earlier. Since I got almost 3 weeks off now, I'll be doing a lot more of these sketches and then blogging them.

Teen emo character drawing: Outline
This is the same drawing I posted earlier, this time I vectorized the image in Illustrator. The next step is to bring it into Photoshop to colour it.

More personal cartoon work...
I recently picked up a book titled "Creating Characters With Personality" by Tom Bancroft. It's essentially for anyone who is interested in Animation and are looking to give their drawings a bit of an extra "kick". They offer tips on design elements like costumes/clothing, stance/posing, shapes, personalities etc. They have assignments after each chapter that test what you've learned from that chapter, and I must say, they look quite fun. I've already read through this book three times since buying it on Wednesday, and I'll definitely be looking through it and trying some of the assignments over the holidays (which will be hard because I'll be getting Call of Duty: Black Ops for Christmas :P) so I'll see what I can accomplish. This drawing is just a start for me, there's tons of things I'd like to do with this character drawing.

Character Design: Final Piece
So here's more or less of the finished product. There may still be one or two things I may have to tweak, most likely the shading, but other than that, this is basically the final product. Enjoy.
