Dodge Challenger: Finished

Same deal with the the Ford Fiesta; I worked on this on and off for about 1 and half to 2 weeks. This time, I went straight to tracing the car in Illustrator instead of making a sketch, like I normally do.

Ken Block's Ford Fiesta FINISHED

So I worked on this piece on and off for about a month now. Here is the final product.

Reference Image

My image created in Illustrator

The paint job/decals were very time consuming and some of the smaller decals were really hard to trace. Nonetheless, the car is done and I'm quite pleased with the final result, being the fact that this only my second attempt at a vector car.

Ken Block's Ford Fiesta cont.

Final line art

Colour progress

Getting pretty close to being done. Just a few finer details and that should be it. Really liking how this piece is turning out. Much better than I thought.

Ken Block's Ford Fiesta

Original sketch

Preliminary tracing/colouring

Still have a bit of aways to go before this car is completed. There is more tracing to been done regarding the car's structure and then there's the decal tracing, which could be a whole days job in and of itself.

Girl on the Red Carpet illustration

Original sketch (as always)

Final Product

The red carpet idea was kind of a last minute design. I was looking for a way to help make this illustration a little more interesting.

Girl Musician Illustration

This is my original sketch

Finished product. The perspective of the hardwood floor was a pain in the ass. Other than that, I'm quite pleased with the turnout.

More sketchbook creations

my attempted drawing of Ken Block's Ford Fiesta featured in one of his Gymkhana videos. There are a ton of decals on his actual car that'll I'll trace in once the car itself is digitized in Illustrator.

Hand drawings

Part of my Independent Illustration (that's right, hopefully I won't be a wannabe Illustrator forever) portfolio required my to draw two expressive gestures of my hand. These are the final results. I'm much happier with the first hand drawing because of the curves of the fingers as oppose to drawing just a smooth shape for each finer and the better shading. The second drawing, the gesture is bit more of a cliche, plus the shadows/highlights are not that great either. I was under a bit of pressure trying to meet the obligations of three portfolios for programs I thoroughly enjoy and I kind of regret drawing the second, in the pose it's in, just to fulfill my portfolio obligations. Will definitely keep practicing these drawings as portfolios seem to demand these hand drawings.
