Wheaties Cereal Box Animation

Another cool animation done in my Intro to 3D class. This one isn't quite done yet, but I've still learned a lot about basic animations like bends and twists, animating using the curve editor, hiding and showing objects and using dummy objects to assist with the animation.

Pretty neat stuff!

Five Finger Death Punch logo: Possible concept #2

I'm not liking this one as much as the previous one. But it did spark an idea that I strongly believe will turn out quite well, so stay tuned.

Five Finger Death Punch logo: Possible concept #1

So The heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch is hosting a contest for anyone wiling to design a logo for them. Being a fan of 5FDP, I decided to take this project on.

The winner will receive a lifetime supply of tickets to any of the band’s worldwide performances, $500 cash, and a Special Edition ‘Knucklehead’ Latex mask. The winner will also receive a signed Five Finger Death Punch BC Rich guitar, a signed vinyl copy of ‘War Is The Answer’ and a signed custom skate deck. The top ten runners up will each receive a signed deluxe box set copy of ‘The Way of the Fist’ and a Five Finger Death Punch Neoprene mask.

I really like the abrasive stroke on the fist and the rough, "grunge" kind of feel with the typeface. Really suits 5FDP's music style. More ideas on the way.

Re-visit

So awhile back, I posted a character model that was based off of the likeness of Danielle Harris and Cassadee Pope. I went and re-visited the previous attempt of the Illustrator character model and changed a few things like the colour of her clothes, added a gradient to the jeans and fixed the eyes.

First bit of work done for the Five Finger Death Punch logo contest

This is the first piece of work done for the contest. I'm trying to go for something bold, yet simple. A logo should really be overly complicated otherwise people may misinterpret your brand. More work to come later.

First guy character model in quite awhile....

Wow, It's been awhile since I've designed a guy character model. I've just been practicing how to draw attractive female character models lately.

Flash Digital Clock client project.

Flash Digital Clock project.

For this client project we had to make a digital clock that is scripted in AS 3. It must display the correct time in either 12 or 24 hour format (which I still have to figure out...), shows the current day of the week and AM / PM indication.

Flash tutorial: Digital clock

So this tutorial will definitely help me with the digital clock assignment for Advanced Flash. Here's the end result. There's still stuff missing like the date indicator and the 24 hour clock option, but I'll figure that out later.

3DS MAX crane animation

This is the final product for the 3D crane assignment. I would like to go back and map a "Rockstar" label on the cylinders and then possibly animate the crane arm swinging around and knocking the cans over when the crane had finished stacking them. Other than that, I'm pleased with the outcome. A lot of hours and early mornings needed to build this project, but it was worth it.

Adobe Photoshop Tutorial: Futuristic Space Background

This is a tutorial that was posted on my phpBB3 forum courtesy of my friend Joe Mittler. I'll post the link here. Futuristic_Space_bg  This is a fairly simple tutorial, I got it done in like half an hour. The outcome looks kind of cool, it's basically just a bunch of "drop down" effects to build this final product. Enjoy.

Adobe Illustrator tutorial: Headphones

So out of all the Illustrator tutorial I completed thus far, I have to say, this one is probably the coolest and  most challenging one yet. The final product of the tutorial is fantastic; you get the feel of a 3D object (i.e. the headphones) without using the 3D feature that Illustrator provides. I added a few features of my own just because I can, like the mp3 player, the headphone chord, the music play head, the background gradient and my own colour palette for the headphones. The link to the tutorial is posted below.

Adobe Illustrator tutorial: Tribal designs/logos

So once again, I've found another Illustrator tutorial via their Facebook page. This tutorial introduced me to the "Width tool". It's basically a tool that allows you to add some style to simple lines without having to outline the stroke first. So with some basic lines drawn with the "Pen tool" and with use of the "Width tool", the tutorial shows you how to create some tribal logos. The image below is my result of using this particular tutorial. The link to the tutorial is posted below.

Experimenting with colour: Re-created in Illustrator

This goes back to a post I made like a week ago. I was pleased with the colour turnout for my artist markers, but I still wanted to bring this character into Illustrator to get a solid, professional looking character design.
