Typography: Enhanced lyrics piece 1 of 3

This is 1 of 3 of the enhanced typography compositions. The job as to take a section of lyrics from a song, a poem or a quotation and enhance it typographically. The lyrics I ended up choosing were the "Enter Sandman" lyrics by Metallica. The lyrics are very descriptive and kind of freaky, so manipulating them won't be that difficult. It's also the song that got into liking Metallica's music. For this piece, I only maniplated certain words to help emphasis the type and what it is depicting. For example: the word "war" has blood spatter on it to show that war is gory, violent and bloody.

LIGHT IT ON FIRE!!!!

This time I used the "screen layer", "difference clouds", "lighting effects", "Hue/Saturation", "radial blur", "plastic wrap" and "outer glow" to set a Gibson flying V guitar on fire.

More Illustrator pen tool practice

You can tell that I'm having WAY too much fun with this crap....

Character Design: Final Product

So here's the final character design. I don't normally design female characters on account of the fact that I'm just not that good at them :P. But not bad for my first try, I suppose. Enjoy!

Greek letter assignment: final product

These are the finished compositions for the Greek letter assignment. All 3 compositions were done in Illustrator CS5.

Greek letter assignment: thumbnails

These are the thumbnail drawings I did for my Typography assignment. We are to choose a Greek letter and come up with 3 compositions that demonstrate a hiearchy of elements. All compositions must contain : The symbol, the name of the letter and research about the letter. In each composition, one of those features must be the dominant element in the composition.

More Photoshop Cell Phone compositions

For this client, we were emailed a bunch of photos of a new phone. The only problem is, the pictures looked like ass! We had to tidy up and repair the pictures using Photoshop by means of the clone stamp tool, spot healing brush, eraser and other methods. I have to say it's not the most fun job I've done in Photoshop, but I'm sure things could be much worse. The total time spent on repairing the pictures: 30 mins.

Character design: colour

So this is the same character design, but with colour. Still have to make shadows and highlights though.

More Photoshop basics

More Photoshop basics using difference clouds, radial blur, colour balance, lighting effects, plastic wrap and layer screen. The second image was made using lens flare, plastic wrap, and desaturate. Got some really cool results.

Vancouver Canucks logo trace

Just more boredom on a Sunday night. I traced the whole thing in about 3 hours, with no breaks, just straight work. It's another basic logo that can still turn out pretty sweet. Plus, they're pretty much the only decent Canadian team in the NHL.
:P

Some 3D Studio MAX stuff.

I actually rendered these quite awhile ago, my grade 12 year in high school to be exact. I found these files hidden amongst the thounds of files in my hard drive.

Audi R8 Web Design

This project was actually completed about 1 month ago, but I never got around to posting it on my blog. Better late than never, I suppose...

Stick man drawings

So this was a warm up excersise for my first Media Preproduction class at Seneca College. If we get to draw maybe more advanced stuff, like actual characters as oppose to stick guys, I will enjoy this course, for sure.

New Phone Compositions

Phone Compositions made in Photoshop for my first "client/assignment".

New Photoshop techniques

.
.

Learning some new Photoshop skills. Experimenting with filters, gradients, screening and learning to make lightning using levels and difference clouds. Pretty cool stuff, actually.
