Graphic Translation. Find an image of a person in a magazine that has good contrast between the background and the person. Make a trace of the image and simplify the character using positive and negative shapes, while still maintaining the structure of the person.

Upside down drawing. Without a doubt the most interesting and challenging of the first week's assignments. Didn't know what to expect in terms of drawing technique, so I treated this drawing mostly like a partial blind contour drawing.
